Improving Patient Outcomes Through Intelligent Integration

This session will present the technology utilized within patient rooms and throughout the University of Utah Rehabilitation Hospital to help manage the healing process and increase functionality of the environment for patients recovering from or learning to cope with mobility limitations. These spacious, single-occupancy, smart technology hospital rooms are fully customizable to the individual needs of each patient with the most advanced technology deployed to encourage activity and promote independence. We'll explain how "care goes beyond" for patients and medical professionals in this facility. We will review lighting, shade, HVAC, nurse call, entertainment, voice commands while maintaining patient privacy, door openers, and elevator integration controls from a tablet interface.
