AVoIP or IPTV? They Are Not The Same!

IP-based video distribution offers many welch-recognised advantages over legacy technologies, including reliability, flexibility, reach, automation, and cost – especially as Ethernet-based networks are deployed into new buildings. Recently, the terms ‘IPTV’ and ‘AV over IP’ (AVoIP) have been used interchangeably, which has led to some confusion at both a technical and application level. The strengths, weaknesses, use cases and cost profiles are in fact very different.
